5 men 4 marathons 3×110 mile bike rides All in seven days of pain

On the 30th April three RAF Halton personal are to embark upon an endurance event that’s never been attempted before. It comprises of 4 marathons and 3×110 mile bike rides, back to back, over seven days.

The start point, of this never attempted before event, will be at Lands End kicking off with the first Marathon running along the challenging coastal path route, immediately followed by a cycle ride covering 110 miles. This cycle continues throughout the course of the week taking the team through eight counties culminating with the Milton Keynes marathon on the 06th May.

During this event each man will cover the distance of 700 kilometres, pushing both the mind and body to the limit.

The three personal taking part in the event from Initial Force Protection Training (IFPT) RAF Halton are Cpl Peirce, Cpl Gambling and SAC McNevin.

The support team from RAF Halton is comprised of Flt Lt Dowdeswell (physio), Sgt O’Hara (support driver), Cpl Sean Kilkenny (bike technician) and Sac Plowman (support driver), without there support this challenge would not be possible.

The team have received invaluable support from external sources including Boditronics, which have supplied all training supplements throughout the build up training to the event itself. Ashmei and Up and Running have supplied the team with running equipment and accessories, while Trek cycles have supplied much needed biking equipment.

With less than two months to go until Cpl Peirce, Cpl Gambling and Sac McNevin hit the ground running (literally!); they would like to thank all those that have supported the event.
