Annual Formal Inspection

On the 13th & 14th November there was an Annual Formal Inspection by the Air Vice-Marshal Lloyd. Who was met by Wg Cdr Steve Scott he then escorted him around Halton introducing him to various sections while he was conducting his visit.

After a brief on the graduation parade the AVM Lloyd was escorted on to the parade square to witness the graduation and hand out the prizes to the winners.

RAF Halton was privileged to have the AVM open our new Groves Air Power Centre. After unveiling the plaque, the facility which allows Phase 1 recruits and Stn personnel to immerse themselves in Air Power materials was officially declared open.

After a full morning of meeting various sections at RAF Halton, a buffet lunch was taken with the JNCOs before the visit then went on to more briefs and inspections. The AVM visited a variety of sections on the station including Enhanced Education Flight and Airman’s Development Flight.

Day two consisted of the AVM observing an Intermediate Management and Leadership Course (IMLC) escorted by Sqn Ldr Matt Cornish, OC Airman’s Command Squadron. This was followed by an opportunity for staff at RAF Halton involved in training to present to the AVM the challenges to training through displays and by talking over any issues.

Flt Lt Kev Scrafton, OC Airman’s Development Flight then introduced the AVM to a number of recruits before AVM Lloyd attended the Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility where he had a tour of the facility and discussed with staff the multi-disciplinary medical support to training.

The AVM was escorted to the airfield by Wg Cdr Daren Moss, OC Trg Wg to watch a demonstration on fuel spills which was undertaken by students and instructors and at the end of the day Gp Capt Elliot met to de-brief the visit before the AVM departed.
