During March 2019, RAF Halton supported the RAF Benevolent Fund at two bucket collection events, raising over £900.

Corporal ‘Hilly’ Hill and Sergeant Sarah Perkes volunteered at the Odeon Cinema in Aylesbury for a bucket collection to celebrate 75 years of the Great Escape. The pair enjoyed a full screening of the classic Great Escape film, including commentary from Dan Snow and entertainment from the D-Day Darlings. Following the screening they continued with the bucket collection and raised almost £100.
Sergeant Marie Griffiths led a small team on an early morning start to London Bridge Station, thanks to Network Rail’s generosity.

The team consisted of Corporal ‘Boothy’ Booth, Sergeant Owen Clarke, Sergeant Clair Watson, Chief Technician ‘Swinny’ Swinscoe and Warrant Officer Mark Notts. The bucket collection raised a staggering £863.

Sergeant Griffiths, who is the Station Champion for the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: “If anybody wishes to assist in raising awareness or funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund, please contact me.”
