Community Information

Welcome to the inaugural Community pages in Mainpoint. This section will update you with the latest information and news concerning community activities ar RAF Halton.

The hub of the RAF Halton community is undoubtedly the Trinity Community Centre (TCC), next to the Cherry Tree Nursery and the Fire Section. It is the only facility at RAF Halton which has been specifically designed for families of RAF Halton personnel. Formerly the Trinity Church of Scotland, The RAF Benevolent Fund funded its conversion to the Trinity Community Centre in 2008.

The Trinity Community Centre offers:
• A large soft-play area for young children,

•A new outdoors activity area for older children,

• Costa Coffee Pod supplying hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks,

• Wii equipment and games for up to 4 players,

• Disabled access throughout,

• Indoor and outdoor seating,

• A multi use Community Hall which can be booked for private parties, conferences and workshops and which is used for community clubs and activities,

• A small meeting/interview room,

• Access to various RAF Halton Welfare Staffs including the Hive Information Officer, SSAFA Forces Help Welfare Officer and the Service Community Support Officer and Clerk.

There are various community clubs, activities and classes who meet weekly in the TCC from Rainbows and Rattles (RAF Halton’s parents & toddler group) and Youth Club through to St John’s Ambulance and Brownies to free Citizen’s Advice sessions and Adults’ Aerobics. Full details can be found on the following pages. The TCC is also home to many seasonal events such as the RAF Halton Children’s Christmas Party, the Christmas Fayre and the Big Brew Up. Join the HIVE eNewsletter to be kept up to date about the latest events (contact Mrs Shirley Cousins, x6507 to join).

The Costa Coffee Pod is open from 1000 til 1600, Monday to Sunday and provides all personnel and dependants at RAF Halton – whether military, Civil Service or contractor – a lively and fun facility to drop in to and grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Combined with the huge variety of community activities designed for all ages, the TCC is the perfect location for all RAF Halton personnel and their families to get to know.
