When airmen and women are deployed around the world, their families are left at home. RAF Halton has an extensive package in place to ease this difficult time for our Service-families. The most recent event was a lunch in Halton House Officers’ Mess.
Families of RAF Halton’s deployed personnel enjoyed a Sunday lunch at Halton House which in addition to being pleasant entertainment was also an opportunity for families to meet other people in similar circumstances and to meet the Station’s welfare staff.
Hosted by Community Support staff the lunch reached out to the families of those who are currently deployed, recently returned or about to leave on Operations. Joined by the Station Commander, Group Captain Chris Elliot, the families enjoyed lunch in the historic house before the children’s entertainments began. From face-painting to a bouncy-castle the children were kept very well occupied.
The British Forces Broadcasting Service also attended the event to record messages from families that would be broadcast to their loved ones out on Operations across the world.
