PMS Charity Run
On the 8th July, five members of Personnel Management Squadron (PMS) entered the prestigious London 10k.
With over 30,000 runners, the event closed down the centre of London with hundreds of supporters cheering on the competitors that were representing numerous charities in the race. The entrants from PMS were Fg Off Welsh, SAC Smith, SAC Evans, SAC Haywood and SAC Oakley who were representing the RAFBF and BLESMA. The race began at Hyde Park Corner and followed an iconic route that passed the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament. Our fastest runner was SAC Leigh-ann Smith with an impressive time of 48 minutes. The atmosphere was buzzing and conforming to true British summer time traditions, the race wouldn’t have been the same without a little bit of rain! A total of £400 was raised by the PMS runners for the 2 charities, with a total of over £7,000 being raised in total for the RAFBF throughout the RAF. In summary, a fun day was had by all and of course it wouldn’t have been complete without a few well deserved drinks in the pub to ease our aches and pains!
