RAF Halton receives Certificate of Appreciation from RAFA

During the Royal Air Forces Association 70th Anniversary Annual Conference, in Eastbourne 10-12 May 13, RAF Halton was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the Station’s continued support, especially the RAFA Liaison Officers, in recruiting new members to the Association in 2012.
The RAF Association needs to raise over £8 million each year to help those who have sacrificed so much for their country. One of the ways RAF Halton’s RAFALO Team supports this cause is by organising and participating in fundraising for the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal. The Wings Appeal supports serving and ex-RAF personnel and their families, whenever they are in need.  Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back onto his feet, a young child missing their parent away on an overseas operation or a WWII veteran needing a shoulder to lean on, they are there to help. The RAF Association’s Wings Appeal receives no government funding and is entirely dependent on the generosity of the public to raise the funds for its vital welfare work.

The RAFALO Team at RAF Halton are always looking for new members to get involved with the very busy programme of supporting fundraising events, supporting our local RAFA Branches and offering help where possible for those serving and ex–RAF personnel and their families who may require a helping hand in whatever form.
