Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary

Group Captain Chris Elliott, spent an evening at the local branch of the Royal British Legion in Wendover to help them celebrate their 90th Anniversary.

Accompanied by Halton’s Padre, Squadron Leader Sheila Munro, they were met by Chairman of the Committee John Thompson and Group Captain Henry Tuppen (Retired), Chairman of the British Legion Branch Committee and Branch Life President, and Mrs Cathy Brackley, Life President of the Club.

After a formal ceremony where the Club lowered the Standard and Henry Tuppen addressed the room, Group Captain Elliott and Padre Munro relaxed and enjoyed live entertainment and a buffet with members of the Club’s Committee and Members. We are very proud to carry on the work of the British Legion here in Wendover and happy to have the backing and close links with RAF Halton. On the night we made over £600 through the raffle and donations’.
