RAF Halton Shines In Annual Formal Inspection Success
RAF Halton had its Annual Formal Inspection recently when Air Officer Commanding (AOC) AVM Mike Lloyd spent the day meeting people and learning how the Station works and conducts training.
After the visit the Station Commander, Group Captain Simon Harper sent a message to all serving personnel and civilian staff, saying: “Yesterday, the Air Officer Commanding completed his Annual Formal Inspection of RAF Halton, which was an outstanding success. The AOC was shown the complexity and variety of what RAF Halton is and does and he was particularly impressed by the quality, enthusiasm and professionalism of all those he met. Throughout, the AOC recognised the exceptional training and sporting excellence that we deliver, was assured by the highest standards of care and safety that underpin all that we do and acknowledged the critical importance of our ‘one team’ approach. Events such as these do not organise themselves and I recognise the necessary and many hours of planning and preparation that impacts every area of the station. The success of the Annual Formal Inspection is your success and I continue to be extremely grateful to each and every one of you for your unique and vital contribution to RAF Halton – well done and thank you.”
AVM Lloyd said he was very impressed with all that he had seen and the inspection was one of the most successful he had conducted this year.
He continued: “RAF Halton never fails to impress me with the level of commitment, dedication and professionalism shown by the military and civilian Staff, Recruits, Trainees and Instructors alike. I was pleased to see that the entire Stn has grasped the concept of Total Safety within the whole force environment and applaud the considerable efforts undertaken to achieve this.
The immediate future offers many challenges for RAF Halton including the gapping of key posts within RTS and ACS which I am addressing, but I am reassured that, despite these challenges, RAF Halton continues to produce excellent results.
Overall, I had an excellent visit, met some outstanding people and received well informed briefs that have assured me that RAF Halton fosters a strong culture of teamwork, safety and duty of care for its entire workforce.”
AVM Lloyd finished by awarding the Station a one day stand-down in recognition of their hard work and a successful formal inspection.
